Tip: Reach the ghats before sunrise. Vehicles are usually stopped well before Har Ki Pauri.

Lakhs of Kanwariyas come to collect Ganga jal and walk it back home for Sawan Shivratri. The Delhi to Haridwar highway gets one-way traffic and diversions.

Tip: Avoid driving in from Delhi during the last days of the yatra. Official dates are announced closer to the time.
